Born and raised in Boston, Jamie Ashley Joseph shares her passion for the artistry of makeup and glamor. For everyone wondering, the young and ambitious Jamie Joseph's ethnic background is comprised of Caribbean, Indian, French, and Spanish (Spain). Although she is still mistaken for 18, the 27 year old answers some questions relating to her inspirations, achievements, and experiences. When she is not working at a Sports Orthopedics office during 9-5, she is a freelance makeup artist. She really enjoys both jobs. In our interview, you can really tell this girl has an intense love for art of makeup and making people happy.

Where do you find your inspiration?

My inspiration comes from so many different areas. I take ideas and inspiration from other makeup artists' talents and views. I also take examples from fashion and art. I love people and animals. Therefore, my inspiration comes from having all the important people in my life happy and healthy. Animals are my favorite and they truly light up my life!

What are your greatest achievements?

My biggest achievement is establishing myself in such a short time as a great make up artist in Boston. It's uplifting to know I've given so much confidence to women and that makes me so happy.

What are your goals?

I would love to continue working in the beauty industry and possibly create a YouTube account. I'd like to showcase my favorite products and share some of my life with people who are interested in me. I think it's fair to say that I'm an open book.

What motivates you?

My mother and Father are my main motivations. Being an only child, we have established a tight bond and I wouldn't be me without them. My boyfriend, Arlindo, is also my motivation. He has made me see things I never saw in myself... hes my #1 fan. So sweet.

Tell us about some of your experiences (Good or Bad)?

Haha, I've had a bit of both actually. I think experiences mold you into the person you will become. I've had some waste of time relationships. LOL. I've had some clients that were not so pleasant but the job needed to be done. I've recently had my mother face some health issues that has strengthened the bond and relationship I have with both parents. The good side is that, at this very moment, I am content with life and the direction it's going. I hope to continue this feeling and make this year a very memorable one!!!!

What are some of your hobbies?

I love online shopping and definitely addicted. I love traveling and plan on doing more this year. Most people are surprised but I enjoy paint-balling. I am an Aries and have a natural sense to compete (nicely). I like being active and trying new things. I love doing makeup and spending time with people who care about me... I'm a people person.

Who have you worked with?

I've done makeup for TattedupHolly, Stephanie Santiago, Ayisha Diaz, Kyra Chaos, and Ruby Sayed. And I've done numerous weddings and photoshoots including the most recent shoot for Seduce Vodka!

If you had the opportunity to change the world, what would it be?

Animal cruelty and abuse for sure. I am a huge lover of all animals and its something dear to my heart. Too many people look past animal abuse and it is so prevalent in our society.

Any tips on your craft?

The beauty business is ever changing and evolving. I move with current trends and changes but also always stay true my ideal of what is beautiful and sexy.
